Airport Development Group has welcomed the recent announcement by Qantas connecting the Northern Territory to Asia. From March 2025, QantasLink's latest Airbus A220 aircraft will commence flying between Darwin and Singapore, offering Territorians greater access to both international and domestic travel. This next-generation aircraft will provide over 70,000 seats annually on the route and opens new possibilities for connecting the Top End to Asia and beyond.
Rob Porter, Executive General Manager, Airports, said: "The arrival of QantasLink’s A220 in Darwin highlights the airport’s strategic role as a gateway to Asia. This aircraft not only enhances passenger experience but also supports the long-term growth of the Top End’s economy by opening up new routes and boosting connectivity."
Sandra de Kock, Executive General Manager, People, Culture, and Community at Airport Development Group added: "The introduction of the Darwin-Singapore route from March 2025 is a game changer for the region. It strengthens our ties with Asia, creating new opportunities for trade, business, and tourism, while also providing Territorians with more seamless connections to international destinations."
ADG is thrilled to see this important route take off, linking the Northern Territory more closely with the rest of the world.
