Airport Development Group has invested $25 million into transforming the Novotel & Mercure Darwin Airport Resort into a world class destination.
General Manager Erich Friedl shares updates on the completion of 6 bespoke pool villas and plans are underway for 28 new deluxe rooms, 12 suites and a lagoon pool.
In early 2021 Airport Development Group (ADG) acquired the Mercure Airport Resort and Novotel Airport Hotel and a major refurbishment commenced immediately.
Uniting the properties into a single resort is a major focus, along with significant upgrades to the existing accommodation and facades, and the addition of a new lagoon pool, poolside restaurant and extensive new tropical gardens.
Indigenous artwork will provide inspiration for the interiors and external facades.
NT Airports CEO Tony Edmondstone said “This investment demonstrates the confidence we have in the long-term future of tourism in the Territory.”
Work on the property is expected to continue into 2022.
