Airport Development Group (ADG) is proud to announce the launch of our Indigenous Engagement Report 2023-24, showcasing our ongoing commitment to fostering meaningful relationships with First Nations communities across the Northern Territory.
At this week’s ADG Indigenous Advisory Committee meeting, Chair Eddie Fry celebrated the achievements highlighted in the report and welcomed new members Nicole Brown (Larrakia) and Michael Liddle (Alyawarre) to the Committee.
"The collaboration between ADG and First Nations communities has delivered exceptional results, including initiatives such as the Gurambai Cultural Trail, the striking Indigenous murals at Darwin Airport Resorts, and the Indigenous Training Academy, empowering youth to build brighter futures in the Northern Territory," said Eddie Fry.
The Indigenous Training Academy has been a cornerstone of this success, creating pathways in education, employment, and leadership for Indigenous youth in Darwin, with plans to expand into Alice Springs in 2025. Meanwhile, the development of the Darwin Airport Resorts continues to spotlight First Nations culture and heritage, driving growth in Aboriginal tourism and boosting regional tourism appeal.
Sandra De Kock, Executive General Manager, People, Culture and Community at ADG, emphasised the importance of collaboration: "The insights of the Indigenous Advisory Committee have been invaluable in shaping ADG’s approach to engagement and community partnerships, ensuring our initiatives have a lasting impact across the regions we serve."
We extend our deepest gratitude to the Indigenous Advisory Committee for their unwavering support and guidance. Together, we are building a future that celebrates cultural heritage, promotes inclusion, and creates opportunities for generations to come.
